Osa Johnson and Vern Carstens Unloading Supplies

On earlier expeditions the Johnsons didn't have the luxury of running to the store when supplies ran out. During their Cape Town to Cairo flying safari in 1933 things changed when they added two airplanes. Vern Carstens, their pilot, routinely flew from their camp at N'Gornet in the remote frontier to Nairobi to replenish their supplies.
