Lioness

The Johnsons would sit at night in separate blinds waiting for the lions to come...and they almost always did. This photo of a lioness was made one evening in the Belgian Congo. One dangerous, but effective technique Martin and Osa learned while night filming was to whistle, and when the lion looked up they could shine a light and film it quickly. However, when there were several cats on one kill, giving away one's position was risky business.
