Martin and Osa with their Akeley Camera Filming at Lake Paradise

The Akeley camera was designed for making films of animal life quickly and safely. For action shots Martin mounted two cameras together. One was timed to make the usual 16 exposures per second and the other timed to take 64 exposures. This made both regular and slow motion films, permitting a close study of every movement.
